Content Quality

Moderation Team

The potential for users to exploit multiple accounts to earn excessive rewards through low-quality content is a significant concern for Tlock’s economy. To address this, we are establishing a decentralized moderation team.

Meanwhile, we believe that a moderation team is essential for maintaining the platform's integrity by enforcing community guidelines. This ensures that content remains respectful, relevant, and free from spam, harassment, or hate speech, thereby fostering a positive environment for all users.

Moderation and Free Speech

To safeguard freedom of speech, no content will be removed from the blockchain during moderation. Users retain the right to express themselves without fear of their content being erased or permanently silenced. All moderated content remains accessible through direct blockchain queries, ensuring information availability. However, when a designated post is moderated, its weight is reduced, decreasing its visibility in general queries such as the home page and recommended lists.

The moderation processes are entirely on-chain and fully accountable. Moderator identities and privileges are updated on-chain once they are hired by their line managers. Additionally, the moderation team utilizes off-chain data analysis to ensure that our goals are achieved.

Team Structure

Chief Moderator: Elected via Tlock governance module to oversee the entire moderation framework.

Directors, Managers, and Moderators: Hired by the Chief Moderator to manage different aspects and scales of moderation tasks efficiently.

Moderators will be able to withdraw their monthly salary from the module address after direct managers review their monthly performance and input the score on-chain.

Election of Chief Moderator

Token holders are entitled to propose and vote on the election of the Chief Moderator through a parameter change proposal. If the proposal passes, the chief moderator address gains the authority to hire, promote, or dismiss members of the moderation team. Once hired, moderators implement moderation based on principles and policies established by the Chief Moderator and Directors.

To prevent long-term centralization, the Chief Moderator serves a term of four years as defined in the parameters. If token holders believe the Chief Moderator is unqualified, they can initiate another parameter change proposal to elect a new Chief Moderator.
